Monitor and manage your operations with REMS

Remote Environmental Monitoring System (REMS), is a web-based environmental monitoring solution that integrates noise, vibration, dust and weather data in real time so you can optimise and manage your operations.

REMS provides high quality, reliable data for environmental compliance reporting, and has real-time incident exceedance alerts to maintain compliance limits and take corrective actions to reduce the impact.

With REMS, you can access reports and view data online, anywhere, anytime.

Software with real time capability

REMS collates and displays continuous noise, vibration, dust and weather data all in one place. Graphs, images, and analytics are all at your fingertips. Managing environmental compliance has never been easier.

Receive updates, alerts, and notifications, as well as real-time data and reports fully remotely with REMS.

Hardware you can rely on

In order to produce high quality data, REMS uses EPA-approved instrumentations from leading brands. REMS integrates noise, vibration, dust and weather data, and can be tailored exactly to your needs. Pick and choose the equipment you want and what you want to measure. REMS also supports third-party hardware via API, meaning existing equipment can be fully integrated and therefore reduce costs.

Benefits of environmental monitoring:

  • Comply with environmental regulations.
  • Investigate complaints from nearby residents.
  • Protect the environment and be a good neighbour.
  • Reduce operational downtime and improve productivity.
  • Improve social license to operate and improve corporate image.
  • Mitigate operational risks.

Applications for REMS:

  • Assessing risks to nature and the environment.
  • Construction – identifying noise complaints.
  • Meeting environmental regulations.
  • Optimising operations.
  • Reducing impact of operational works on local communities.
  • Identifying environmental pollutants.
  • Complying with construction approval and development consents.
  • Identifying construction noise.
  • Identifying mining noise.

REMS integrates, displays and delivers accurate and reliable noise, vibration, dust, and weather data.

Noises that exceed limits can be especially problematic, not just to the local community and wildlife, but also to the operations of the worksite. Laws and regulations often also dictate how much noise can be created, with hefty fines and punishments for noise breaches.

With Class 1 EPA approved instruments, Vanguard Technologies uses professional acoustic analysers and sound level meters from leading brands, including NTI Audio and Acoem.

Pictured above, NTI Audio’s XL3 Acoustic Analyser is a professional sound level meter and acoustic analyser, with a fully integrated web server and file server. Used by professionals in the noise measurement industry, Vanguard Technologies uses quality, Class 1 instruments for precise measurements.

Integrating and reporting to REMS, noise data produced from noise loggers means that operators and managers can manage compliance thanks to alerts and notifications from REMS if noise limits are close to being breached.

Dust can be a big problem, especially when operational works are located near residential areas, and risk harm to the local community.

With Class 1 EPA approved instruments, Vanguard Technologies uses professional air quality monitors from leading brands, like Kunak.

Pictured above, Kunak’s AIR Pro measures multiple pollutants, including particulate matter in the air. Measure dust accurately with reliable air quality data thanks to hardware from world-leading brands.

Reporting to REMS, dust data produced from the air quality monitor means that managers and operaters can ensure full legal compliance and reduce operational downtime thanks to professional hardware integrating with REMS.

Vibration monitoring is an important part of environmental monitoring. Needing to assess its impact on the environment, local communities, as well as planned works’ impacts on infrastructure such as gas pipes below ground, mean that vibration monitoring is critical. Laws and regulations also often determine maximum amounts of vibration that can legally be permitted, and rightly so, with adverse effects to health and wellbeing if vibration is left unchecked.

With Class 1 EPA approved instruments, Vanguard Technologies uses professional vibration monitoring terminals from leading brands, including Acoem.

Pictured above, Acoem’s Orion Smart Vibration Monitoring Terminal is a robust, durable, and waterproof vibration monitoring system that has seven measurement channels.

Fully integrating with REMS, vibration data produced from vibration monitors can be displayed all in one, simple, easy-to-use dashboard, meaning vibration regulations can be adhered to and operational risks can be mitigated.

The weather can sometimes change at the drop of a hat. That’s what makes having a quality weather station with wind, rain, temperature, and barometric readings so critical when planning operations.

That’s why we use weather stations and weather transmitters from industry leading brands, like Vaisala.

Pictured above, Vaisala’s Vaisala Weather Transmitter WXT530 Series, is a top-of-the-range weather technology that includes ultrasonic wind sensors and a wide variety of digital communication channels. Vanguard Technologies uses quality, industry-leading instruments for reliable and precise measurements.

Integrating with REMS, weather data produced from onsite weather stations mean that rather than having to rely on nearby BOM-operated weather stations, operators can make decisions in real time from data produced in real time.
