Measure and assess noise from construction to comply with noise regulation

A global construction company (JV Consortium) in Victoria is building one of the largest road projects in Australia. The project will consist of 6.5km twin tunnels to link to an existing freeway with construction work 24/7.

Challenges:

The construction company is committed to minimise negative impacts on the surrounding communities and meeting stringent Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs) for noise. They needed a continuous noise monitoring system that can measure noise levels including low frequency in real-time to ensure compliance set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Solution:

We provided a network of specialised noise monitoring systems that can measure low frequency in real-time and have the ability to upload data to a 3rd party platform.

Outcomes:

We successfully installed a network of noise monitoring systems around the construction site and in the community. Our customer was able to use it to check against compliance and provide reliable and accurate noise data to all the stakeholders including the communities, and regulators.
